I can't believe it, but you're 1 year old today! Time sure has flown by. You've had such a busy year and you've learned so much. A typical day for you now consists of getting up around 8 am, eating cheese toast(your favorite breakfast food) while watching squirrels outside the dining room window, running around like a wild woman until 11 am, napping from 11 til 1 pm, eating lunch, playing outside or going for a walk, another nap around 4 pm, playing with Daddy when he gets home from work around 5 pm, snacking, eating supper at 7 pm and finally bedtime around 8:30 pm. Some of your favorite things are: cheese toast, green beans, Peanut(our dog), rocks, sticks, mulch, frogs(especially the one at aunt Sylvia's house), books, dancing, and the wheels on the bus song. As much as I hate to say it, you are also a daddy's girl. You pretty much cry any time he leaves the room...and he loves it:) You now have 2 teeth, which is great because a little over a month ago you refused to eat baby food and haven't eaten it since. I just want you to know that you are such a blessing to us. You bring so much joy into our lives. Everywhere you go people always comment on how pretty you are. You have the sweetest smile and the biggest eyes. We absolutely love and adore you!!!

I can't believe Bailey is 7 months old!!! She crawls very well now and has started pulling up on everything she can get her hands on. She is definitely a "daddy's girl"....she'll cry whenever he leaves the room. However...the only word she's said so far is "Mama"...or "my Mama".

At Bailey's 6 month check-up she weighed 14 lbs. 4 ounces and she's 26 inches long. She's been rolling both ways for a while now and can do a modified "army" crawl. She can sit unsupported and will eat anything you put in front of her. Here are some pics of the last month...

Bailey went to the doctor for her 4 month check-up and she now weighs 12.25 lbs and is 25 inches long. She's only in the 16th percentile for her weight, but the 70th percentile for her length. She can now roll both ways. Here are some pics of the last month.

Time flies by...my little girl is already a month old. She is growing like a weed. When we left the hospital she weighed 6 lbs and at her 1 month check-up she weighed 8 lbs. We had her pictures taken by Nill Silver...so here's a little peek at some of my favorites.

Okay...so Bailey has kept me busy. Last week started off with a Dr's appointment Monday. Lab work was drawn. Tuesday I had to take a 24 hr urine sample to Greenville and have more lab work drawn. Then, the Dr. called and told me to go to the hospital because my platelet count was low...it was 111. So I stay in the hospital Tuesday night, more lab work drawn, and get sent home Wednesday afternoon after more lab work was drawn. My platelets were 115 on Wednesday when I left. So Thursday I had a Dr's appointment and because my blood pressure was high, I also had a Dr's appointment on Friday morning. Today, I got to spend a few hours at the hospital so they could check my platelet count, blood pressure, and urine. Everything was good(well...good for me)so I got to come home. Next Dr's appointment is Tuesday and I can't wait;)

Baby update...

Okay...so Monday I went to work knowing it was not the smartest thing for me to do. I worked last Thursday and Friday...so by Monday my feet were huge. My baby shower at work was Monday, so I didn't want to miss it. I know a lot of people put a lot of time into the shower. I ended leaving work early because my blood pressure was elevated and scheduled a doctor's appointment for Tuesday. At the doctor's office, my blood pressure was still elevated so the doc decided to send me to the hospital for 24 hours. I had a 24 hour urine collection to check for protein, which turned out to be okay. So they discharged me Wednesday...with the instructions of bedrest and twice a week check-ups. The first check-up was today and it was good. My blood pressure was a little lower and my feet aren't swollen like they were. I had an ultrasound just to make sure Bailey was doing okay and she looks great. Right now she's around 6 lbs 7 oz. So we're playing the waiting game right now. As long as my blood pressure doesn't get crazy and my urine stays clear we'll just let her grow until she decides she's ready to meet us.

Not a lot going on right now except school for Josh and work for the both of us. Our baby is growing and kicking. The baby room is still a mess, but hopefully we'll get it cleaned up soon. Josh has decided that he wants to hunt now(deer and turkey). I'm not thrilled with the idea, but if that's what he wants to do then I'll support him. Working in a hospital and seeing gunshot wound patients kinda makes me nervous, but Josh thinks I'm being over-protective. I'll try to be better about updating my blog, and maybe take some pics of my big belly.

I know..I know...I'm such a slacker when it comes to updating by blog. I'm so excited about it being December...and not for the obvious reason (Christmas). I'm excited because next Monday find out if our baby is a boy or girl. Also...this is the last week of school for Josh until next semester..woohoo. I had a dentist appointment today, which I always look forward to because I'm weird like that, but today's appointment was extra great. I felt my baby move for the first time. I don't know if it was the fact that I was upside down on my head or hyper-extending my back in the dentist chair, but whatever it was made the little one move so I could feel it.

We went to the doctor on Wednesday for a checkup and he/she seems to be doing fine. The heart rate was in the 150s-160s this time. No problems so far...so that's good. Hopefully we'll have an event-free pregnancy. I've not been sick so far. Little cashew is a pretty good baby.

I'm pregnant.I'm a little over 9 weeks now, and my due date is May 8th 2009. Josh and I are very excited, although it doesn't seem real right now. The ultrasound helped with that because now I have a visual image. I can't wait for the 9 months to be over. I'm ready to see my little boy or girl already.

Time for vacation...

I'm excited...vacation time is almost here. Only one more 12 hour day and then we get to head to the beach. Josh is out of school for a couple weeks, so we get to enjoy vacation without worrying about papers being due:) Work is getting better, I'm usually waiting on the next shift nurse when 6:45 rolls around. So life is good now, I have a sweet husband, an adorable dog, and a job that I'm learning to like (not to mention a week off!!!).

It's been awhile since I've posted, mainly because my new job is kicking my rear. Nurses have an extremely hard job, not to say other jobs aren't hard, but I know my job is pretty crazy. I think my body is beginning to adjust to the 12 hour shifts, which is good because my house definitely isn't (it's a mess!!!). Josh has a break from school...I think he starts back next week though. We joined the Y...I had no idea they have such neat workout equipment. Hopefully we can both drop a few pounds. Other than that...we're pretty much the same.

Well, I'm a year older today. This past year has definitely been one of the best ever. A little over a year ago, Josh and I were married. Time flies by so quickly. Leroy was born last July...I can't believe he's almost a year old. Josh started school....we got a dog, Peanut.....I graduated from nursing school.....I passed boards......and now I'm a nurse...how things change!!!!! I really believe I'm wiser than I was last year....so if age brings wisdom then getting older doesn't bother me...well at least until I start looking old.

Looks pretty good doesn't it. So it's official....I'm a nurse. Thank you to everyone who prayed and believed in me....especially my Joshie. If I had to wait one more day on my results I think he would have divorced me(not really):)

So if you did not already know I took the NCLEX today. I'm absolutely freaking out. I had over 200 questions....more than any other classmate so far. I thought I was going to have a mental breakdown right in the middle of the test. Having to wait for 2 days for the results is terrible. I know drinking is not a solution for anything....but it's helped. I tried praying....believe me...I tried praying...but my craziness continues. So for everyone who reads this....please pray for me!!! Two years of school is validated by one test score and it scares me to death.

Only 2 more days until the big test! I'm starting to get nervous. Hopefully Spartanburg Community College left me with enough knowledge to pass one more test. The more practice tests I do, the less confident I feel. Oh well, after Monday it'll be all said and done....hopefully for good. Josh is working hard again today. He has a project due and hasn't been able to work on it until today. Living in Easley really sucks sometimes. Having family that you want to see, but just don't have time to is depressing. I know it'll only get worse as we age, and have children of our own and more responsibilities. With that said....I think I'll stop typing and call my mom to see if she got Nana today.

I can't believe the weekend is already over (not to mention Monday). Josh and I had a great, but busy weekend. We got up Saturday and headed to Landrum to pick up our niece Natalie. We took her and Peanut to Falls Park in Greenville. They both had a good time. Natalie walked in the water a little with Josh. She wasn't crazy about playing in the water, she liked watching all the other kids more. She would look and smile and say "they're crazy", which is one of her favorite sayings. After that we went to Brusters for ice cream. Peanut didn't touch her ice cream and Natalie only ate a few bites. I, however, slurped down my birthday cake milkshake with no problem. Having a dog and a child is hard work. Josh and I joked about not having children because after one day with Natalie, I just don't see how I can be a full-time mother. We, of course, still want children, but I know I have a better appreciation for mothers. We took Natalie back to my mom's house on Sunday and ate with my family. I've studied a little for the NCLEX today (not near enough) and Josh has been working on a test all day. It's due tomorrow, and he hasn't had any free time to do it until today...good thing it's a holiday. I hope everyone had a safe and happy Memorial day.

My new job

So it's official, I took the job offer from Regency. My last day as a pharmacy tech will be June 6th. I take boards on June 2nd...hopefully pass....and will receive my license in 1 to 2 weeks. So (everyone cross your fingers) by mid June I will officially be a nurse. This is also a warning, if you have loved ones, mid June may not be the best time to have them at Regency...just kidding.

I decided that since I'm no longer in school I should have a blog too. I live too far away to keep everyone in Landrum up-to-date on most things, so hopefully this will help. There's a lot going on right now...I take my nursing boards soon and I have to decide on a job. Josh is a very busy boy. He's at school now and won't get home until close to 9 pm. I feel bad, he's had an extremely long day and I'm sitting at home typing on my computer:( I have started doing the dishes now, so he doesn't even have to do that anymore. That was his one house chore. Well...I'll leave you with a few pics of our recent trip to Mexico.
